We cherish being able to bring our people-loving pooch into the community. Whether it's a peaceful walk in Wandlebury Country Park or a fun outing into the centre of Cambridge, our dogs are more than just pets - they're our family. So, what better way to enjoy a day out during the warmer months than to find a pub where our canine companion is just as (well, probably more likely) welcome as we are?

Here's our guide to some amazing dog-friendly pubs where everyone can relax and enjoy.

1. The Eagle

I think we all know the famous drinking and thinking hub where Watson and Crick announced they had discovered 'the secret of life'. However, did you know that it's actually dog-friendly?

2. The Cambridge Brew House

One of my personal favourites is The Cambridge Brew House, which is described as a playful eclectic decor pub with a micro-brewery, featuring home-smoked British tapas and sharing platters. The Cambridge Brew House has indoor and outdoor seating appropriate for both you and your four-legged friends.

3. The Free Press

The Free Press is a lovely, dog-friendly and relatively quiet local pub that has outdoor seating and serves food at the bar. This is a great option if you're into clean and presented, but not overly-fancy pubs.

4. The Punter

Another gem just outside the centre of Cambridge. The Punter is a cosy pub overlooking a secluded garden courtyard, with 1930s-era artwork jumbled about the walls, and is obviously dog-friendly!

5. Fort Saint George

This place is nice and spacious inside and is dog-friendly. Perfect for our (lacking) sunny days as there is seating both inside and outdoors.

6. The Cambridge Blue

This Cambridge Blue has plenty of outdoor seating and is a great, traditional pub inside. Welcoming well-behaved pooches, it's definitely earned itself a spot on our list of recommendations.

Some of our additional recommendations include:

  • Green Man Cambridge
  • The Old Spring
  • Granta
  • The Plough (Bar Area)
  • The Alexandra Arms

We hope you get the chance to try some of these local gems with your four-legged friends!
